How can the maître d' help?

Why does it ask about allergies first?

So nothing unsafe ever reaches your verdict. Allergies and diets are strict rules: a dish that breaks one is removed before any other question and is never brought back to manufacture an answer. If you save a profile, you'll never be asked again.

How do I change my allergies or household?

Tap Your profile at the top of the home screen. Tap any rule to turn it on or off, or add and remove people at your table. Changes apply from your next dialogue.

I vetoed a dish by mistake.

Tap Your profile → Vetoed, and remembered → Pardon next to the dish. It's back on the menu from your next dialogue.

It said no dish fits my rules.

Your combination of rules rules out everything on tonight's menu, and the app won't bend an allergy or diet to give you an answer. Tap Edit rules on that screen to change tonight's rules, or switch between cooking in and eating out, and try again.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, go to Your profile → Delete all my data. Everything is erased from your iPhone immediately. Deleting the app does the same. See the privacy policy for what's stored.

Does “Find it nearby” order food?

No. It opens an Apple Maps search for the dish type, for example “sushi near me”. The app doesn't ask for your location and doesn't order anything.

How do I turn the reminder off?

Open Your profile and switch off Reminder. It's never more than three a week, and never ads. You can also turn off notifications for the app in iPhone Settings.

What does a shared verdict card show?

Only the dish or recipe you landed on, how many dishes it beat and how many questions it took. It never shows your allergies, diets, household or anything you ruled out.

Is the allergy filtering guaranteed?

No. Every recipe's ingredients were reviewed, and when an ingredient's allergens depend on the brand (broth, bread, tortillas and the like), the app treats the allergen as present and leaves the recipe out. But products and restaurants change. Always check labels and tell the restaurant about allergies.

Can I add my own dishes?

Yes. Open Your profile → My dishes. Add a dish by hand, paste a list (one per line), or import a recipe from a web link; most recipe websites work. Tag each dish's main protein and allergens: until you do, it counts as unknown and stays off the menu whenever an allergy or diet rule is on. Your dishes join every dialogue and can be the verdict.

Where are the cooking instructions?

Open the recipe from the verdict (Cook this). Below the ingredients is the method, and Start cooking shows one step at a time in large type with a timer wherever a step names a time. The screen stays on while you cook.

What does Apple Intelligence do in the app?

On iPhones with Apple Intelligence turned on, you can type what you're craving before you start. It runs on your iPhone, suggests answers (you still tap each one) and can write a short note on your verdict or suggest swaps for a missing ingredient. Swap ideas aren't checked for allergens. It never changes your allergies or diets. Turn it off from the More menu during a dialogue.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
